Oklahoma higher education has formed an aerospace coalition known as the Center for Aircraft and Systems/Support Infrastructure (CASI). CASI enables access to university-based multidisciplinary, project-oriented support teams for the aviation community. CASI functions as a statewide center of excellence under the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. CASI's primary operational responsibilities are shared by the University of Oklahoma (OU) System, the University of Tulsa (TU), and Oklahoma State University (OSU) and the A&M System. Langston University and Rose State College are affiliate members. The Center continually welcomes active participation by other campuses. The Center uses a unique structure that can combine engineering, business, and science faculty from campuses statewide into focused support teams. CASI teams enjoy state-level priority and centralized support for management and resources while operating on a decentralized basis at the campus or campuses involved on given project. The Center's faculty and facilities serve as a source of applied research capabilities and emerging technologies. CASI seeks to serve in the role of an applied research and emerging technology insertion partner for DoD maintenance depots, particularly the US Air Force Air Logistics Centers in Oklahoma, Georgia, and Utah, and the FAA at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. |
